in the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the


30th anniversary of the Center and the 80th birthday of its Director—Professor Roza Suleimenova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.


The conference theme is Interdisciplinary Approach and Interinstitutional Cooperation as the Main Condition for Including Children with Disabilities in the Educational Process.


The event will take place in Almaty on October 29–30, 2026.

Location: 115 Dosmukhamedova St., DoubleTree by Hilton Almaty, Almaty.

The following topics are planned for discussion at the conference:
  • Inclusive Education: Trends, Challenges, and Solutions
  • Early Detection, Intervention, and Support: Experiences and Practices
  • Professional Development of Educators Teaching Children with Disabilities: Competencies and Practices
  • Enabling Environments and Assistive Technologies as Condition for Improving Quality of Life and Including Children with Disabilities in the Educational Process
Invited to participate in the conference are representatives of government ministries; heads and specialists from education departments, social protection, and healthcare; directors, head teachers, and educators of preschool, general education, and special education institutions; representatives of pedagogical universities; special education teachers; audiologists, neurologists, epileptologists, psychiatrists, neonatologists, pediatricians, and rehabilitation specialists; Psychological-Medical-Pedagogical Committee (PMPC) members and early intervention centers; representatives of non-governmental organizations; and members of parent and caregiver communities.

As part of the conference, the Exhibition of Equipment for Creating Developmental Subject-Spatial Environment and Assistive Rehabilitation Technologies will be held.

  • Welcome Address by Roza Aitzhanovna Suleimenova
    Dear colleagues and friends!
    We invite you to take part in the anniversary conference of the SATR Center, which will serve as an important milestone in reflecting on and summarizing the many years of our work. The conference will also provide a professional platform for exchanging experiences and discussing current trends and pressing issues within the framework of the announced theme.
  • Center History
    The SATR Center was founded in 1996 and became a pioneer in many areas of the special education system, providing various types of services to children and adults with disabilities.
    Among its major completed projects are early intervention for children with developmental disabilities, social work, inclusive education, the creation of a correctional and developmental environment, improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities, and training and rehabilitation processes, as well as the introduction of new pedagogical technologies using modern technical aids and assistive equipment.
    The main goal of the SATR Center is to promote quality education for children with disabilities and to ensure access to quality correctional and developmental learning.
  • Founder and Director
    Roza Aitzhanovna Suleimenova—Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, leading scholar, and organizer of the special education system in the Republic of Kazakhstan. For her significant contributions to the development of education and science in Kazakhstan, she has been awarded the Order of Kurmet, the Medal for Excellence in Education, the Medal of Ybyrai Altynsarin, the Badge for Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Government Medal for Distinguished Labor (Eren eñbegı üşın medalı).
  • SATR Center Academy
    Throughout the Center’s history, a key focus has been on organizing educational events aimed at professional development for specialists, professional exchange, and discussion of the most pressing issues in special and inclusive education.
    The Center holds international scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and webinars. These events are offered free of charge and represent a contribution to the development of the special education system, as well as related areas such as early detection of developmental disorders, timely support for child development, and inclusion in the educational process.
